Scientific Research Paper Writing Workshop conducted
The Information Technology Department (ITD) spearheaded a workshop on scientific research paper writing on February 12-14, 2017.
Thirty-one participants from the Information Technology (IT), Networking and Math Sections participated in the workshop.
During the three-day event, ITD lecturers and experts delivered their sessions on the components required for writing a research paper.
During the opening program, Mr. Prasanna Ranjith welcomed the participants as he gave an overview of the workshop.
Dr. Joey Masirag discussed the importance of scientific research to academicians.
Highlighting how to identify specific research problems, Mr. Saleem Raja and Dr. Sudhakar delivered parallel sessions for the IT/Networking and Math staff.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lemuel Nalugon shared his expertise on writing an abstract, introduction and problem statement.
Dr. Bala discussed writing a literature review, references and citations; whereas, Dr. Devandra gave useful tips on applied mathematics and the different research methods.
Finally, Mr. Bhaskar shared his own experience in dealing with research methods in IT, while Dr. Bora shared insights on making references and citations while writing a research paper.
During the valedictory function, IT Head Ms. Amina Salim Al Jabri, along with the HOSs, awarded certificates of appreciation to the resource speakers.
