UTAS-Shinas IT students recently visited Sohar Aluminum's IT department as part of their coursework requirements for Cloud Computing, Virtual Systems and Services and Network Operating System. Accompanied by their lecturers, Mr. Bernard Agbuya and Mr. Justin Rajasekaran, on 11th May 2023, the students gained valuable insights into various IT topics. They learned about servers, virtualization, computing architecture, server management, cloud computing, and more from Mr. Saif Islam, Senior Engineer - IT System Operations. Additionally, Mr. Pradeep, the Data Center in-charge, showcased the data center's components such as cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, storage systems, and sensors. This visit provided practical exposure and bridged the gap between academia and industry, enhancing the students' IT knowledge and skills. The IT department extended a special thanks to Sohar Aluminum for their hospitality and expertise.
