IT Department conducts seminar-cum-workshop on Interactive Techniques
The IT Department organized a seminar-cum-workshop on “Student-Centered Learning: Interactive Techniques (Reach, Motivate, and Inspire Your Students)” on October 28, 2014 at the D1 Room in the D Building. Dr. Joefrelin C. Ines, HoS of Marketing Section, Business Studies Department, served as the resource speaker. He talked about the importance of student-centered learning (SCL) towards effective and efficient learning process, and stressed the difference between teacher-centered learning (TCL) and SCL. He shared various interactive techniques that lecturers can adopt in their respective courses. Further, he asked the participants to use some of these techniques during the workshop activities.
After the seminar-workshop proper, Dr. Mary Jane Aragon, HoD of the IT Department, together with Dr. Joey Masirag, HoS of IT Section, and Mr. Deogracias Joaquin, HoS of Mathematics Section, handed a certificate of appreciation to the resource speaker. Mr. P. Vaidhyanathan, Lecturer in Mathematics, served as the master of ceremony.
The said seminar-cum-workshop, organized by the department SPDC, aimed to equip the lecturers with enhanced knowledge and skills of effective teaching strategies and approaches.
