The Alumni Committee of the Information Technology Department at UTAS Shinas conducted a 4-day workshop called ‘Hands-on Practice on the Internet of Things (IoT) for Beginners’ for Alumni Students on 6^th to 9^th of  December 2021 at Lab A-206. The workshop aimed at teaching participants the basics of Internet of Things and its applications and  train them on how to use Raspberry Pi B, Cisco PL-App and Putty Software.  Rajesh Rajamoni Kala,  Dr. Venkadeshan Ramalingam, Akhila Kumaraswamy Rajeswary, and Hariraman Ammaiappan, faculty members of the Networking section of the IT Department, served as the resource speakers. The workshop was attended by Alumni Students of IT department. The event concluded with giving certificates to the trainees who successfully completed the training. Seven Omani participants completed the workshop. The culminating activity was attended by the resource speakers, Ms Salama Said Al-Kalbani - Head of Networking Section and Ms Amna Salim Rashid Al-Kaabi - Head of IT Section.
