ETC Releases its First Issue of ETC Connect for this Academic Year 2012-2013

Educational Technology Center has released the latest ETC Connect magazine on December 2012 with its new-improved design with the help of the ETC Connect Team. ETC Connect features topics contributed by the Head of Center and sections of ETC. Mr. Ahmed Al-Saidi has contributed the latest review on the best smart phones (data from the CNET website) which were rated excellent by consumers. Mr. Talal Al-Quri, the head of ESS, in his article on Teaching via Promethean Active Board, has shared ideas and tips on the use of new technology and mechanism for teachers who wish to deliver their classes using interactive boards. Ms. Amina Al-Jabri discussed in her article the new features of the latest Microsoft Office Program for the benefit of users. Ms. Salima Al-Shibli in her contribution disclosed a comprehensive list of subjects and pages that were viewed in the eBrary during the last academic year that assisted the college to get the first rank. Many interesting topics were shared by ETC article contributors namely: Mr. Karl Cabucos, Mr. Johnson Gurrea, Mr. Franklin Riego, Mr. Marvin Retutal and Mr. Dennis Gonzales. Mr. Edgardo Dalan, the ETC Connects Guest writer from IT department, in his article offered tips on combating the ill effects of technology in education. The Coordinator of the magazine, Ms. Marilou Paderes, in her editorial revealed the objectives, scope and depth of the ETC Connect publication. She also contributed the article Streamlining the Methods of Communication through ShCT e-mail and introduced the Educational Technology Centers future ambitions in furthering the scope of its operations. Mr. Frederick Manual Camay made this issue quite appealing and enticing with his unique layout concepts. The Associate Editors, Mr. Edward Langcay and Ms. Rhona Waga from English Language Center supervised and proofread all articles in this issue. The copy of ETC Connect is now available in the ShCT Library and on the College website.
