Networking lecturer Dr. Venkadeshan Ramalingam facilitated a webinar for 45 Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) staff on July 6, 2020.

Entitled “Internet of Things (IoT) Environment Simulation using ThingSpeak and CISCO Packet Tracer with the support of the Python Program,” the webinar aimed to introduce ThingSpeak Service, an IoT analytics platform service that allows to aggregate, visualize and analyze live data streams in the Cloud.

Dr. Venkadeshan discussed IoT Technology, using Raspberry Pi and Arduino devices,  protocols used in the IoT environment, utilizing ThingSpeak Cloud Service, and deployment of Smart IoT Monitorig and Manageent System using sensors and controllers.

He also demonstrated how to use Cisco Packet Tracer to simulate an example of Smart Home Automation.

The said event is the concluding webinar of the webinar series organized by the Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC) of the Information Technology (IT) Department.
