ITD organizes IoT Training Workshop
The Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC) of the Information Technology Department (ITD) organized an IoT Training Workshop on the 13th of November 2018, at A-140, Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) Main Building.
IT lecturer Networking section Dr. Abdul Samad Saleem served as the speaker.
The training aimed to introduce an overview of the knowledge of IoT and programming with raspberry PI, which includes understanding the term “Internet of Things,” stating the technological trends which have led to IoT,applications of IoT, understanding the core hardware components most commonly used in IoT devices, understanding the interaction between software and hardware in an IoT device, understanding role of an operating system to support software in an IoT device, and practicing with various sensors
The speaker also demonstrated the use of various types of sensors practically; participants were able to see the interaction between the software and hardware in an IoT environment.
He also encouraged the participants to read more about IoT Technology and tried to integrate these new technologies within their research.
