IT Department orients Diploma I students
A series of induction-orientation programs to new Diploma students were held on February 4th, 6th and 7th, 2018 held at Room F-128, English Language Center (ELC) Building.
Masail Al-Saidi and Myssa Al-Gaithi, IT students, shared the overview and profile of the Department and different specializations offered. They also facilitated the open forum and discussion.
Ms. Nadia Swaidan Al-Saiedi, Counselling and Graduates Follow-up staff, discussed academic system, related policies and procedures, and other academic matters that serve to guide new students in obtaining the desired Cumulative General Point Average (CGPA) and avoid entering probation status.
Mr. Ahmed Al-Farsi, Head of Counselling and Graduates Follow-up, also explained about probation, how to avoid and move out from it, learning styles and study habits, and related matters and also discuss about the behavior of the students.
Educational Technologies Center (ETC) Technician Mr. Humaid Al-Mamari mentioned to the students the student’s services offered by their unit under ETC.
This classroom venue based induction program has been found effective in ensuring high percentage attendance for the past years.
