IT Department orients Diploma 1 students
The Information Technology Department held a series of classroom-based induction-cum- orientation programs for the new Diploma students from January 29 to February 1, 2017.
IT and Math lecturers Mr. Prashanth Kumar and Ms. Malathi Gopinath respectively shared an overview and profile of the IT department and the different specializations being offered. They also facilitated an open forum and discussion.
IT lecturer Ms. Aysha Mater Al-Jabri and Head of Counselling and Graduates Follow-up Mr. Ahmed Al-Farsi discussed the academic system, its related policies and procedures, and other academic matters.
These, they stated would serve to guide the new students in obtaining the desired Cumulative General Point Average (CGPA) and avoid entering the probation status.
Also, Mr. Ahmed Al-Farsi enlightened the students regarding probation and how to avoid the same. Additionally, learning styles, study habits, and other related matters were discussed.
Educational Technology Center (ETC) technicians Ms. Laila Mohammed Said Al-Mamari and Ms. Maryam Ahmed Salim Al-Sulittni shared the services offered by the ETC to IT students.
This induction-cum-orientation activity aimed to induct and orient the new diploma students on the academic system, policies and procedures, the specializations offered, counseling services, and extra and co-curricular activities.
