IT Department holds IoT workshop
The Information Technology Department conducted a workshop on “Hands-on practice on the Internet of Things (IoT) for Beginners” on November 8th & 9th 2021 at Lab A-218. The workshop aimed to provide the basics of Internet of Things and its applications. It also sought to train participants on how to use Raspberry Pi B, Cisco PL-App and Putty Software. Faculty member Dr. Venkadeshan, from the department of Information Technology, Networking Section served as the resource speaker. He discussed the basic principles of Internet of Things, how to turn an LED with Raspberry Pi’s GPIO, running of Raspbian OS and the usage of breadboard to connect different electronic components to each other. He demonstrated how to use PL-App to access the software and hardware resources of the Raspberry Pi. The workshop was attended by staff members from IT and Networking Sections. The IT Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC) organized and facilitated the workshop.
