IT Department conducts induction-orientation programs for students
The Information Technology (IT) Department conducted a series of induction-orientation programs for its new Diploma I students, at Room E-013 from March 11-12, 2019.
To ensure a high percentage of attendance among the students, the programs aimed at informing them about the College’s academic system, policies and procedures, IT specializations, available student’s services and support, counseling services, and extracurricular activities.
During the induction-orientation, IT lecturers Mr. Prashanth Kumar Bolisetty and Mr. Mir Abdi Ali presented the Department’s profile and the different specializations currently offered.
Counseling and Graduates Follow-up staff Ms. Bushra Al Mammari explained the academic system and its related policies and procedures, ways of obtaining the desired Cumulative General Point Average (CGPA) and avoiding the probation status, while Ms. Nadia Swaidan Al Saiedi discussed probation in relation to the students’ CGPA, learning styles and study habits, and students behavior.
Ms. Kalithem Mohammed Al Jabri, Educational Technology Center (ETC) Technician, shed light on the services offered by ETC such as student portal, e-learning, college e-mail, and wifi services.
