Hiba Al Zaabi and Fatema Humaid Mubarak Al Badi got nominated for the Huawei ICT Middle East 2021 Competition - Regional finals, which is the final leg of the competition. These students will join the national team to represent the Sultanate of Oman. The competition will be held in December 2021 where teams from the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, and Pakistan will be participating.

It is the fifth year of the annual competition, which aims to nurture and empower the future generation of Omani ICT talent, to contribute to the region's national digitization plans and technology-driven strategies.

The participants stand a chance of winning USD20,000 in prize money, as well as other prizes and awards, with the opportunity to compete in the global finals. Each team comprises of three students and an academic tutor.

The Huawei ICT Competition was launched in 2017 and has now become one of Huawei's most influential competitions.
