Employing security for our network servers and workstations is recommended to protect our system from being destroyed, intrusion and theft.
Computer Services Section (CSS) ensures that everyone’s computer is protected from virus threat and other inappropriate actions against our network. From the start of the Academic Year, the acquisition of the new anti-virus is one of the priority projects worked on by the Anti-Virus Team led by the coordinator, Mr. Ali Hassan together with his members: Mr. Karl Cabucos, Ms. Laila Al-Mamari and Ms. Thuriya Al-Hosni. With the direct supervision of Ms. Amina Al-Jabri and Mr. Ahmed Al-Saidi; a combined effort of the Anti-Virus Team, the new Anti-Virus has been acquired on February 2012. This has been made possible through the support of our College Dean, Dr. Ali Saud Al-Mughairi; Asst. Dean, Mr. Ali Al-Harthy with the Finance department headed by Mr. Khamis Al-Amri.
Considering the number of computers in the college, the deployment of the Anti-Virus is a big task and all the Laboratory Technicians have extended their help to the Anti-Virus team. Now, 75% is achieved and the total deployment is expected to finish by the end of March 2012.
This substantially lowers our risks with proactive threat intelligence that stops threats before they reach our network.
This also gives Maximum Protection and Minimum Complexity for Mail and File Servers, Clients, and Mobile Devices. It’s a single, integrated solution to protect mail servers, file servers, desktops, and laptops against viruses, spyware, spam, phishing, inappropriate content, and blended threats will definitely protect our computer network infrastructure in the College.
