The UTAS Shinas English Club recently had the opportunity to visit the renowned Virgin Radio studio in Muscat. The visit which took place on 16th May 2023, provided students with firsthand experience in professional broadcasting and proved to be an inspiring and educational experience. The English Club students were warmly welcomed at Virgin Radio Oman, where they toured the studio and interacted with the staff, including the popular radio hosts Huda and Dan. 

During the visit, the students had the privilege of learning about various aspects of radio broadcasting. They were given insights into how music is selected and put into the G-Selector system, enhancing their understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations at Virgin Radio Oman. The experience was uplifting and ignited their passion for the broadcasting industry, by providing them with valuable knowledge. The English Club looks forward to the possibility of collaborating with Virgin Radio Oman on the proposed speaking competition, which aims to showcase aspiring radio presenters and boost their confidence in speaking English. 

The English Club supervisor, Ms Razwana Khawaja accompanied the students on the trip and expressed sincere gratitude to Virgin Radio Oman for the remarkable experience and warm welcome extended. She commented that the opportunity to visit the studio and learn from industry professionals greatly enriched the students' educational journey and career aspirations.
