ELC workshop on Individual Performance Measurement System
The University of Technology and Applied Sciences is to implement a new staff performance evaluation scheme, as set by the Ministry of Labour. The Individual Performance Measurement System (IPMS) which is to take effect from January 2022, is part of the university’s vision and mission, which aims to be at the forefront of higher education institutes in technological education and provide a high quality learning, training and research environment. The management of the ELC conducted a workshop on Wednesday 27th October 2021, to inform the ELC lecturers about the new scheme. Head of Centre, Mr Saif Al Weshahi, explained the process and highlighted the key elements. Mr Hamdan Al Abri, Head of Section explained that the IPMS aims to improve the HR system by building a culture of quality performance, improved performance evaluation by linking productivity with incentives. The ELC staff were provided examples of OKR (Objective Key Results) and details of the process, including guidelines on how to list objectives for the Quality Assurance Department. The IPMS will be implemented as a pilot scheme, to develop a standardised mechanism for evaluating the effectiveness of the overall GFP governance and management.
