The Staff Professional Development Team (SPDT) of the English Language Center (ELC) presented a seminar titled ‘Strategies for Effective Lesson Planning’ held at F-003, ELC Building, on March 15, 2018.

SPDT tapped ELC lecturer Mr. Peter Copperwheat as a resource speaker.

Mr. Peter discussed various lesson planning strategies which teachers can use in preparing for their own classes.

Moreover, he also emphasized the need for experienced teachers to prepare lessons plans, to be flexible and teach the students not the lesson plan, and that lesson plans must contain a variety of activities in harmony with the lesson goals.

At the end of the seminar, ELC Head Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi expressed gratitude to the speaker as he awarded him a certificate of appreciation.

SPDC Chairperson Mr. Given Chakalisa thanked Mr. Peter for engaging the participants and for providing them valuable insights on lesson planning.
