In an effort to inspire and motivate students, the English Club at UTAS Shinas recently organized An inspiring event called "In the Spotlight: Working in Aviation." The event which was held on 21st May 2023, featured guest speaker Ayman Al Balushi, a dedicated professional working in the Flight Engineering and Maintenance Department at Oman Air in Muscat Airport. 

Mr. Al Balushi delivered an engaging talk to the students, emphasizing the importance of hard work and dedication in supporting oneself and contributing to the country. He drew inspiration from Eng. Abdul Aziz Al Raisi, the CEO of Oman Air, and highlighted the significance of following good Omani role models in achieving personal and professional success. 

During his speech, Mr. Al Balushi shared his own experiences in the aviation industry, providing valuable insights into the various opportunities available. He encouraged the students to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence in their chosen careers. His words of wisdom aimed to motivate them to develop their English language skills and essential soft skills required for success in diverse fields. The event concluded on a high note as students who actively participated in the session were rewarded with prizes. Additionally, a foundation student was awarded the grand prize of an airline ticket to Thailand, further adding excitement to the occasion. 

"In the Spotlight" was just the beginning of a new initiative by the English Club. The club plans to continue organizing such motivational events throughout the next academic year, by inviting esteemed professionals from various industries. The event received positive feedback from both students and the ELC management.  Head of Section, Mr Hamdan Al Abri expressed gratitude and awarded a certificate of appreciation and shield to Mr Ayman for sharing valuable insights and motivating the students. The English Club looks forward to future events under the "In the Spotlight" series, where esteemed individuals will continue to inspire and motivate students, empowering them to pursue their dreams and contribute effectively to society.
