ELC lecturer holds workshop on Task Based Learning
English Language Center (ELC) lecturer Mr. Peter Copperwheat conducted a workshop focusing on Task Based Learning (TBL) on September 27, 2018, at F-023, ELC Building.
The workshop looked at the contribution that TBL and the Task Based Syllabus has made to English Language Teaching (ELT) and learning.
The presentation begun by looking briefly at the major historical influences and trends in the development of ELT Methodology and Syllabus over the years, from 1960s to the present.
The speaker then defined TBL and gave its strengths and limitations. In addition, the role that a teacher plays in TBL activities were also explored.
At the end of the workshop, participants were encouraged to consider how TBL can enrich the classroom experience of their students and enhance the effectiveness of their teaching.
Mr. Hussein Al Mamari, ELC lecturer, handed a certificate of appreciation as a token of gratitude to Mr. Copperwheat.
