The English Language Center (ELC) conducted an Online Speaking Hub Course from June 8- July 2, 2020.

The course aimed to provide Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) students and community members an opportunity to practice speaking English and to bridge the gap of learning in the current circumstances.

ELC lecturers Ms. Marilyn Gallema and Ms. Razwana Al Khawaja facilitated the four-week course with eight sessions in total.

Using the Zoom application, Ms. Marilyn taught 14 students under the Basic Level group and covered the following topics: life before and after Covid 19, food, holidays, power of social media, sleep, shopping and movies.

Ms. Razwana, on the other hand, discussed Life with Covid 19 (study, work, health, economy, and social life), future goals and job search, global events and media, and asking and giving advices about different situations. She taught 18 Advanced Level students.

The said course was organized by the ShCT Media and Marketing Committee, in consultation with Ms. Maryam Al Aufi, Quality Assurance Department Head.
