The Civil Engineering Section, in coordination with Industry and Community Engagement Committee of the Engineering Department, organized an industrial visit to Panorama Windows Co. LLC, for the students of diploma level on 9^th December 2021. The team comprised of five students accompanied by Mr. Hud Al Saadi, Lecturer, Civil Engineering and Mr. Yousuf Al Alawi, Laboratory Technician, Civil Engineering, UTAS- Shinas. The visit was highly beneficial for the students, who are currently doing a diploma project titled “Usage of waste glass as a material in concrete structures” under the guidance of Mr. Hud.  The visit allowed students the chance to know more about the complete procedure of processing windows, from crushing glass, to identifying the names of  the machines used. In the process  Students also learned about the types of glass that are used for windows and about the system lock of windows.  Mr. Saleh Al Nofli , CEO, Panorama Windows Co. LLC  gave a guided tour and provided information about the departments and operational functions inside the plant. The visit was a great opportunity for students to link the theoretical concept with the practical aspect.
