The Engineering Department (ED) conducted a two-session workshop on “Application of Proquest and Turnitin Software” at Room B-126, on January 27, 28, & 31, 2019.

Ms. Marilou Paderes, a staff of the Computer Services Section (CSS), and Dr. Syed Sulaiman Hussaini, an administrative member of the Quality Audit (QA) Unit, conducted the first and second sessions, respectively, for the Engineering Department lecturers. 

Ms. Paderes discussed the effective utilization of various databases and utilities available in ProQuest like creating log-in with ProQuest digital, installation and using of Adobe digital, storing, retrieving, downloading, and sharing of data or books from ProQuest.  She also explained databases like e-book central, ProQuest central and database applications.

Dr. Syed Sulaiman presented the application of TURNITIN module in e-learning. He demonstrated how an assignment can be created using e-learning and its evaluation procedure through Turnitin module, the allowable percentage of plagiarism, and mapping of assessment.

ED’s Unit Human Resource Support Services Committee (UHRSS), in coordination with the QA Unit and Educational Technologies Center (ETC), organized the said event.
