A group of 24 Advanced Diploma Civil Engineering students visited Horizon Industrial Development Company, on February 28, 2019.

Initiated by the Industrial Liaison Committee of the Engineering Department (ED), in coordination with the On-The-Job Training (OJT) Committee, the industrial visit aimed to familiarize the students with methodologies adapted for civil construction and the latest technology used in building components using the rapid wall system.   

During the visit, Senior Supervisor Arif Ahmed Al Balushi presented the manufacturing processes of rapid wall elements, standard dimensions, casting procedures, cutting the components based on one’s purpose, construction of buildings using rapid wall units, and the step-by-step installation process of rapid wall components.  

ED lecturers Dr. Shahulhameed and Ms. Muna Salim Al-Issaei accompanied the students in the said visit.
