Shinas College of Technology holds Entrepreneurship Forum 2017
Shinas College of Technology(ShCT), through its Business Studies Department, spearheaded the Entrepreneurship Forum 2017 at ShCT, Al Aqur, Shinas, Sultanate of Oman on May 3, 2017.
With the help of ShCT’s Business Studies Students’ Club, IT and Engineering Students’ Club, the first-ever Entrepreneurship Forum was sponsored by the Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (ORPIC).
Mr. Ibrahim Al Maamari, Manager – In-Country Value (ICV) of ORPIC, graced the event as guest speaker.
The one-day event aimed to foster knowledge sharing, encourage students to have their entrepreneurial endeavor, and enhance their entrepreneurial attitude.
The Forum featured an exhibit, panel discussion, business idea generation competition, on the spot logo competition, and product and sales presentation competition.
Entrepreneurship Forum 2017 was attended by funding and non -funding institutions and entrepreneurs, notably alumni and local entrepreneurs who succeeded in their business endeavors
Exhibitors in the Forum include: Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman, ITA, NB, Thurabiz, Riyada, Desolation Engineering Services, Al Mussana College of Technology, Omania Cutee, Multaqqa Al-Qurra, Sport Time, Your Phone Store, Geo Solutions Consulting & Engineering Services and Omania Marka.
The multi-sectoral panel discussion was participated in by successful alumni and representatives of various organizations like Bank Muscat, Entrepreneurship Club, SME Development Bank, RBL, Oman Chamber of Commerce, and Titronic Company.
Students of College of Applied Sciences-Sohar, Al Musanna College of Technology, Higher College of Technology, Ibri College of Technology and Shinas College of Technology participated in the entrepreneurial skills competition.
