SHCT Business Department Concludes The 1st Business Studies Week(14-18th May 2011)

"Step by step we will remove risks and gain profits", this is the Business Studies Society Slogan started the very First Business Studies Week at Shinas College of Technology on 14th to 18th of May 2011. The week was an opportunity to Business Studies students to expose their talents, knowledge and understanding about different issues related to their studies. The whole week was a showcase of different activities designed to discover and enhance students' capabilities and abilities to link their theoretical studies in business with practices from real life. The week has started with an opening ceremony that includes on Business Studies Exhibition, Old Book Exhibition, International currencies exhibition, and Omani Women Association exhibition, Rikaz for moral encouragement Exhibition, Samatel and Challenge World Corners. The opening highlighted some of the major concepts in Business Studies such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Nonprofit organizations, Marketing and Financial Concepts and Small Enterprises. Furthermore, the week has included a lecture in Human Resources Development presented by Ms. Sharifa Khalid Al-Balushi from Al Batinah Quarries L.L.C. The presenter has identified different guidelines in management and administration. In addition, a workshop has conducted by Injaz Oman, A nonprofit organization, which has addressed innovation and imaginary thinking of students through different activities and creative achievements. Entertainments on sports such as football competitions, Girls Day, for-all Evening and other social and sport activities were also part of the Business week events. The whole event has been concluded with a visit to Muscat Security Market. The students have had not only exposed to the formalities of different activities and businesses but also to the process of stock brokers and financial and commercial procedures at MSM. The First Business Studies Week has done inspiringly that allowed the students varieties of experiences on Business Studies concepts and theories highlighted with talents, knowledge and enthusiasm.
