Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) organized “Student Recognition and Award Program” held at ShCT Grounds, on March 28, 2018.

131 students were given awards for Academic Year (AY) 2015-2016 & 2016-2017.

A total of 56 students from different Departments and Academic Center, Engineering – 30, Information Technology (IT) - 10, Business Studies Department (BSD) - 5, English Language Center (ELC) - 11, with Grade Points Average (GPA) of 3.7 in all semesters of the AY 2015-2016 were given Academic Excellence Awards.

For AY 2016- 2017, 40 students with GPA of 3.7 in all semesters of the academic year from different Departments and Academic Center, Engineering - 13, IT - 16, BSD - 6, ELC - 5, were also given Academic Excellence Awards.

Students who rendered services and contributions during graduation ceremonies, celebrations of the National Day, and members of different student organizations were given Extra Curricular Activities Awards.

There were eight awardees for AY 2015-2016, three for AY 2016-2017, and 13 for combined AY 2015-2016 & 2016-2017 who received Extra Curricular Activities Awards.

Students who brought prestige to the College by winning international and national competitions were also honored. A total of 24 students for combined AY 2015-2016 & 2016-2017 received the awards.

Shinas Wali His Excellency A’Sheik Khalifa Hilal Khalifa Al-Alawi and the Regional Director of National Bank of Oman (NBO) graced the program.

Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mamari delivered opening and welcome remarks while ShCT Alumni Adil Ali Al-Hinai gave inspirational speech to the students.

The program was attended by Heads of Academic Departments and English Language Center, staff, students, parents and relatives of awardees.

Organized by Student Activities Department and technical support by Educational Technologies Center (ETC) and Administration and Finance Department, the program was headed by Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Mr. Ali Al-Alawi and sponsored by NBO.
