Lifeline Hospital joins UTAS Shinas for Health and Nutrition Event
The English Language Center, in collaboration with Lifeline Hospital-Sohar and UTAS-Clinic, organised a health awareness day entitled “The Health and Nutrition Event”, on 27th October 2022. The event aimed to raise awareness and understanding about health and nutrition issues and how to monitor personal health to make informed dietary choices about sugar and salt intake. UTAS Shinas lecturers and students were invited to attend the free medical screening camp which was held in the lobby area of the main building. Dr. Mohamed Fazin and Dr. Fadwa Ibraheem, from Lifeline Hospital, provided free GP consultations and were supported by male and female nurses from Lifeline Hospital. The services offered included free blood sugar testing, blood pressure testing, BMI, weight and height assessment. A total of 177 staff and students were screened on the day. The Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance, Dr Ghareeb Al Matroushi presented a certificate of appreciation and thanked the medical staff for working in collaboration with the ELC and the Clinic at UTAS Shinas. Dr Ghareeb said that UTAS Shinas were grateful to Lifeline Hospital for providing the health check facilities on campus and hoped to welcome them again to UTAS Shinas, to encourage staff and students to regularly monitor their health.
