IT Alumni Committee Holds “Know Yourself to Make a Difference” Seminar
The Alumni Committee of the Information Technology Department conducted a seminar entitled “Know Yourself to Make a Difference” on 24th February 2022 in Room A-138 Main Building. The event was attended by students, alumni and ‘On-the-Job’ trainees from the IT Department.
With the aim of helping participants know themselves to make a difference in career planning and improvement, the speaker, Mr. Prashanth Kumar Bolisetty, lecturer from the Information Technology Department talked about the importance of knowing oneself to select and pursue the right career path and how to add value, whether building a career in the software/IT industry or starting a business. The speaker also included a complete analysis of the labor market expectations, to better understand the techniques and tools required to get a job, or start a business. The different roles in the software industry were outlined for students to consider where they fit. Planning and preparing an action plan were also discussed in the seminar.
The event started with a welcome message for the speaker by Dr. Shija Gangadharan, Chair of the IT Alumni Committee, and ended with presenting certificates to the speaker and participants by Ms. Salama Said Al-Kalbani, Head of the Networking Section and IT Alumni Committee Member, and Dr. Shija Gangadharan. A total of seventeen participants attended the event.
