Within the framework of the efforts undertaken by the Industry Engagement Committee (IEC) to strengthen the relations between the university and the industrial sector, the committee represented by Mr Aranganathan Mahalingam (Lecturer, ELC), Mrs Fatma Al-Shibli (HoD, OJT), and Mr Pandian Vaidhyanathan (Lecture, IT Department) initiated an industrial visit to some of the top local automobile agencies, on 7^th April 2022. The main purpose of the visit was to invite partners to participate in UTAS Shinas events scheduled in the near future, to exchange training programs between our students and their staff. The visits included tours of Saud Bahwan Group (Toyota, Kia),  Al Zubair Group (Mitsubishi motors) and Al-Futtaim (Honda). At Toyota Agency, the UTAS IEC team members were welcomed by the manager Mr Raja, who expresses his gratitude and appreciation of the initiative. Sales Executive for the Honda showroom, Mrs Alya Al Jabri also appreciated the team’s effort and expressed her interest to deal with UTAS Shinas trainees in future cooperation programs. The visit included a meeting with Mr Syed Mohammed at the Kia showroom and then a visit to Mitsubishi Motors, where the team met Mr Ibrahim Al Mamari (Branch Manager) and Mr Ali Al Shizawi (Regional Manager).  The IEC UTAS Shinas team were satisfied with their visit and said that all the automobile agencies were very accommodating and expressed their willingness to participate in future opportunities, including student training at their branches.
