Induction Program for New Students Majoring in Information Technology
On October 11, 2022, the Counseling and Graduates Follow Up Department, in cooperation with the Information Technology Department, organized a lecture for students recently enrolled in the specialization, to introduce them to the department and brief them on what they need to know to facilitate their university studies. First, Mr. Matloob introduced students to the Information Technology Department and its foundations. Next, Ms. Kulaitham Al-Jabriya informed the students about the services provided by the Educational Technologies Center. Then, Ms. Fatima Al Balushi introduced students to the University Library and its services.
After that, Mr. Ahmed Al-Farsi talked to them about the Counseling and Graduates Follow Up Department and the tasks that the department offers on the academic and behavioral levels. He touched upon the religious aspects and the impact on the student's academic life, and the cumulative average (GPA) and its impact on determining the student's academic career.
After that, the specialist, Ms. Balqis Al-Shamsieh, completed the axes of the awareness lecture, where she spoke about the academic probation. She provided some tips on how to avoid falling into probation and how to get out of it. She explained the importance of effective study to avoid getting into academic probation. Students were given many tips on effective ways to study, such as time management, self-learning, developing a study plan, and others.
At the end of the event, the students were thanked for their presence and interaction with the lecturers by presenting questions and comments. The presenters wished the new students good luck to excel in their academic life, and to achieve excellence in both academic and personal development.
