Industry and community engagement committee of Engineering Department has resumed arrangement of field visits for the Engineering students, faculty and staff. Visit to the VOLTAMP TRANSFORMERS SAOC was arranged for bachelor level students of Electrical Engineering who are studying High Voltage Engineering in the current semester. Ten students along with their course lecturer Mr. Mahesh Aphale have attended the visit. Mr. Govinda Reddy, lecturer in physics and Mr. Abdulaziz Saif Salim Al Mamari, Technician in Electrical Engineering also attended the visit along with the students. Dr. Yousuf Al Shafey, Head of HR and Admin of the company welcomed the visitors and briefed about the overall operations of the company. After video presentation of the company, Design Engineering Badour Said Khaseeb Al Kindi explained the accessories and manufacturing process of the transformer. The tour to the shop floor started with a brief talk on HSE by Mr. Ibrahim. Marketing Engineer Fatema Abdullah Sulaiman Al Zidjali, and Mr. Mohammed Abdul Rahman Rashid Al Kaabi guided the visitors on the tour to the shop floor and to the HV test laboratory. Mr. Mohammed, Mr. Sasi Kumar Alankat and Ms. Fatema answered the doubts and questions from the visitors.

Overall the visit was instrumental for the students to relate the theory they learn in class
