The Community Engagement Committee of the English Language Centre, led by Mr Salim Al Badi,  hosted an award ceremony on Sunday 25^th December 2023, to honour the ELC lecturers who recently delivered workshops to the community.  The workshops ranged from CV and email writing, introduction to IELTS, the relationship between extra-curricular activities and leadership development and an online 60-hour educational activity designing course.  The community worshops were presented in Sohar schools, the National University Sohar as well as online and on-campus at UTAS Shinas.  The 60 hours online course which was delivered by Mr Ossama Sayed, co-ordinator for Staff Support Commitee was attended by participants from around the world and locally.  The co-ordinator for the CEC, Mr Salim Al Badi welcomed the attendees, along with CEC member Ms Razwana Khawaja. The event was held at the Amphitheater in the Engineering Building, and was attended by the University Dean Dr Ahmed Al Shahri, Head of

English Language Centre, Mr Saif Al Weshahi, Head of Section Mr Hamdan Al Abri and other guests.   Certificates and mementos were presented to ELC lecturers Mr Basit Sultan, Mr Ossama Sayed, Mr Johnny Kwashie Lanyon, Dr Hani Al Balushi and Mr Nasser Al Hindasi.   Students from the community, who had attended the courses delivered on campus at UTAS Shinas, were among the attendees who were also awarded certificates by  Dr Ahmed Al Shahri.
