The University of Technology and Applied Sciences Shinas signed an agreement with the British Council to become an accredited IELTS Exam Registration Centre, on Wednesday 1^st June 2022.  Mr Mohamed Azab and Ms Ruzeika Abdeen, officials from the British Council, were welcomed and guided around the campus by Mr Ali Al Alawi, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and the management of the English Language Centre.  The Staff Professional Development Team coordinator,  Mr Given Chakalisa and Mr Shijan Joseph also provided a tour of the ELC and talked about the facilities available for test takers at the centre. The partnership between UTAS Shinas and the British Council has been established to provide students and the community, with a facility to take the IELTS exams locally in Shinas, rather than having to travel long distances.  UTAS Shinas and the English Language Centre are truly delighted to offer both Academic and General IELTS exams, with the first IELTS test date being on 25^th June 2022.   Students can register to take the IELTS exam by accessing the link posted on the website, or via the British Council website, selecting the venue as UTAS Shinas.  For further information, contact Mr Shijan Joseph by email  shijan.joseph@shct.edu.om
