ShCT-IT students bag 1st place in Oman Skills Competition
Two students from Shinas College of Technology landed the 1st place in two categories out of the three categories in the Oman Skills Competition.
Maryana Rashid Mohammed Al-Naqbi won in the IT Solutions for the Business category and Amamah Hassan Al-Ajmi won in the Graphics Design category. The third category was Networking.
Seven (7) IT students were sent to join the Oman Skills elimination round of the World Skills Competition at the Higher College of Technology (HCT) on November 18, 2016.
Different technological colleges in Oman participated in the competition. Participants were first tested in Graphic Design Technology, Programming and Networking. They were further tested in English and critical thinking.
The result of the elimination round was announced in December; the three (3) best students were selected for each of the three categories. An HCT student won the first place in the Networking category.
