SPDC spearheads in-house workshops
The Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC) of the English Language Center (ELC) spearheaded three professional development workshops at A 202 and A 214 on October 27 and 30, 2016.
ELC lecturers Dr. Kartikeyan Chokalingam and Mr. David Woelke delivered a workshop dubbed “Getting a Grip on IELTS.”
Attended by Level 4 teachers, the aforementioned workshop aimed at clarifying IELTS (International English Language Testing System) English test-related issues.
Mr. Peter Copperwheat elucidated on “Teaching Grammar through Reading Texts”; whereas, Dr. Nithyanandan Mavila shared his expertise as he tackled “Feedback and Error Correction.”
Majority of the ELC faculty attended the last two workshops, which aimed at sharing some practical pedagogical insights.
