English Language Center(ELC) faculty Dr. Joaquin Gabayno Jr. and Mr. Aldrin Apolonio obtained a certificate as IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Certified Trainers after completing a trainers’ training at Sohar University on March 25, 2017.

Dr. Gabayno and Mr. Apolonio attended the three-day intensive training for IELTS trainers offered by Sohar University and spearheaded by a native speaker from New Zealand.

The 18-hour course “IELTS Train the Trainers” enabled the trainees to become effective trainers of candidates in the most popular English assessment, which is a requirement for global migration and higher education in countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

IELTS is a task-based test developed by the University of Cambridge, British Council and IDP.
