Twenty students of Diploma in Electrical Engineering visited VOLTAM, a power transformer manufacturing unit in Sohar, Oman, January 28, 2016.

Accompanied by Engineering faculty, Dr. Yassir Osman and Mr. Jayakumar MS, the group toured various sections of the unit.

VOLTAMP Production Manager Mr. Rajesh gave an overview of the company, its operations, and manufacturing processes.

Mr. Umesh, Assembly Manager, explained each section and their operation in manufacturing  high capacity transformers.

Ms. Budur Al-Kindi, Executive in Design Team and alumni of Shinas College of Technology, also guided the students during the visit.

The Industrial Link Activities Committee of the Engineering Department, in coordination with ShCT’s OJT Department, organized the industrial visit.
