The Plagiarism Awareness Committee of Shinas College of Technology conducted a workshop on Plagiarism and Copyright Laws at Multi-Purpose Hall, Engineering Bldg. on October 3, 2017.

Invited resource speaker Dr. Jamal Al Salmi of Sultan Qaboos University delivered the two-hour workshop that tackled the following: international copyright laws, Oman copyright law, open access resources, consequences of those laws (on staff and students, course handouts, laboratory manuals), photocopying book chapters for teaching purposes, students reports & assignments, and the procedure followed in SQU by students and staff.

The Plagiarism Awareness Committee is spearheaded by Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Mohammed Al Balushi of Engineering Department with Ms. Marilou Paderes, Mr. Shanmugam Durairaij, Mr. Aijas Ahmed, Mr. Soofi Azizuddin, and Dr. Joaquin Gabayno Jr. as his committee members.

Meanwhile, selected staff from Engineering Department, Business Studies Department, Information Technology Department, English Language Center, and a Post Foundation student attended the said workshop.
